Keyboard trays consist of three main parts: a track that attaches to the underside of your desk, a mechanism that provides adjustment, and platforms for your keyboard and mouse. Most keyboard trays use a mechanism with limited above-desk adjustment, because they’re designed for use while seated.
A standing keyboard tray includes a much longer mechanism, allowing for significantly more adjustment. This means you can raise it several inches to bring your typing surface well above the desk.
